Ingenious Solution Limits HosesIngenious Solution Limits Hoses

Even when outside temperatures dip below -25° F, inside construction projects must continue during the long Edmonton winters. One Edmonton contractor used Wacker Neuson Pureheat™ hydronic air heaters to efficiently rise temperatures to 70° F inside the Edmonton Art Gallery during a renovation project. By tapping into the installed boiler/chiller system pipes, the contactor limited the amount of hoses required to bring heated glycol to the HX200 Heat Xchangers™.  more

The “Awesome” E1100The “Awesome” E1100 (with video)

When a strip mall tenant moved up the opening of a new store in Kenosha, Wis., Pepper Construction had no choice but to pour the store’s concrete slab in the dead of winter. Pepper turned to Lincoln Constructor’s Supply, who rented the contractor a Ground Heaters E1100 hydronic surface heater, and in two weeks the job was successfully completed, from thaw to cure.  more

Deep Thaw in Duluth Deep Thaw in Duluth

Kraus-Anderson Construction Company saved between $315,000 to $365,000 by using 3 Wacker Neuson E3000 Ground Heaters units rather than twice as many propane heaters for a ground thawing project in Duluth. In addition, the E3000 made it much easier for the crews continue the overhead structure work, since they didn’t have to work around large, bulky tents.  more

Tilt-up in TiltonTilt-up in Tilton

Heavy snowfall and gale-force winds left tilt-up concrete curing with propane heaters out of the equation.  A tight construction schedule meant postponing concrete placement was out of the question, so Clayco Construction’s crews had to find a way to properly cure the concrete. The solution was five E3000 Ground Heaters units from Wacker Neuson.  more

Cold Weather Concreting with Hydronic Heaters

Concrete is sensitive to temperature. When it comes to cold-weather concreting, contractors are confronted with three issues: initial set time is lengthened; early freezing permanently damages concrete; and concrete strength development slows. Delivering high performance with low cost, hydronic heat is a much more efficient way to cure concrete in cold weather than hot-air heating.
Learn why and how hydronic heat can save you time and money from this technical presentation delivered to attendees at a fall conference of the American Concrete Institute.  more
