Heat Required for Drilling Marcellus Shale Gas Field
Cub & Pureheat units keeping fracture drilling on-line

The drive is on to tap into what may be one of the largest natural gas deposits in the United States. Approaching fever-pitch, drilling continues 24/7, 365 days a year using a water and sand fracing process. However, the Northeast winters pose significant challenges to keep the water from freezing, so drilling can continue.

To combat subfreezing temperatures, contractors are employing dozens of Cub air and Pureheat hydronic heaters from Wacker Neuson Climate Control to keep the multi-million dollar operations on-line.  more

Confined work space, tight schedule, and the required food-grade-only chemicals made the Pureheat Air Heater from Wacker Neuson the right choice for Rahm Industrial to complete a unique underground water reservoir project in Grand Rapids, Mich. Working in the enclosed space made maintaining air quality a top priority, and Pureheat’s self-contained heating system put the company’s concerns to rest.  more 

Tilt-up in Tilton

Heavy snowfall and gale-force winds left tilt-up concrete curing with propane heaters out of the equation.  A tight construction schedule meant postponing concrete placement was out of the question, so Clayco Construction’s crews had to find a way to properly cure the concrete. The solution was five E3000 Ground Heaters units from Wacker Neuson.  more  

Cold Weather Concreting with Hydronic Heaters

Concrete is sensitive to temperature. When it comes to cold-weather concreting, contractors are confronted with three issues: initial set time is lengthened; early freezing permanently damages concrete; and concrete strength development slows. Delivering high performance with low cost, hydronic heat is a much more efficient way to cure concrete in cold weather than hot-air heating.
