The drive is on to tap into what may be one of the largest natural gas deposits in the United States. Approaching fever-pitch, drilling continues 24/7, 365 days a year using a water and sand fracing process. However, the Northeast winters pose significant challenges to keep the water from freezing, so drilling can continue.

To combat subfreezing temperatures, contractors are employing dozens of Cub air and Pureheat hydronic heaters from Wacker Neuson Climate Control to keep the multi-million dollar operations on-line.  more

Transporting nearly $75 million worth of crude oil daily, downtime on the pipeline running between Prudhoe Bay and Valdez in Alaska is not an option. Charged with keeping the pipeline operating, Houston/NANA and Alaska Petroleum Contractors, Inc. (APC) perform more than 200 maintenance digs a year for the northern half of the pipeline during the harsh winter months when temperatures dip as low as -56° F.  Achieving limited success thawing the ground with air and steam heaters, the contractors now rely on the more efficient, economical and safer thawing solution of the Wacker Neuson E3000 hydronic heater.  more
